Guides

Guides upload a government photo ID and, where the state requires one, a tourism department licence. Our team checks that the documents are legible, current, and match the profile name before the badge appears. Documents are private and are never shown on public profiles.

Agencies

Agencies upload a business registration certificate and GST certificate. We check the registration number against the submitted certificate. Agencies must also publish a cancellation and refund policy before they can receive quotation requests.

Reviews

A review can only be written by a traveller whose booking is marked completed, and each booking can be reviewed exactly once. This is enforced in the database, not just the interface. Reviews are moderated before publication.

Verification confirms identity and paperwork. It is not a guarantee of quality, an insurance policy, or a substitute for your own judgement. Read the reviews, ask questions before booking, and keep communication on record.

• Agree prices before starting any taxi or auto journey, or insist on the meter
• Keep a digital and a paper copy of your ID, stored separately from the original
• Share your itinerary with someone at home — the TripMate share link is read-only
• Buy travel insurance covering medical evacuation for high-altitude or remote trips
• Prefer bottled or filtered water, and check the seal
